£30,000 donated to local charities!

Last week, Gusto Group and Rototek donated £30,000 to 36 local charities!

Every employee across the Gusto Group, including both Rototek Newark & Worksop sites, had the opportunity to nominate a local charity or project to receive a donation, all individual nominations resulted in a £250 donation to their chosen charity through the Gusto Community Fund. The maximum amount given to each charity is £2,000 to ensure a wide distribution of donations. The Gusto Community Fund uses the profit from Gusto Group companies to support local projects and good causes nominated by the employees across the Group. It’s designed to connect our employees with projects in their local community and empowers them to choose the organisations they want to support.

We invited the local charities along to the cheque presentation at our Newark & Worksop factories on 3rd December, with Richard McHugh from In Sam’s Name saying “The £1,000 donation that was nominated by the staff is much appreciated and will go a long way in continuing the mental health peer support within Worksop and the surrounding communities within Nottinghamshire.”

Steff Wright, the Gusto Group Chairman said: “There is so much good work that goes in the community so it’s been a really inspiring day. We decided as a company that we wanted to support local projects and charities and we created the Community Fund through Covid and has been going ever since. We donate a percentage of our profits from the business to good causes and we wanted to support causes that are based in communities where our staff and customers live.”

Kate Baxter, Chief Executive, Children’s Bereavement Centre said “The Gusto Community Fund supports smaller charities in the heart of our community. We are so grateful to the fund and the staff that nominated the Children’s Bereavement Centre, to receive an award which will help to make a vital difference to local grieving families.”

The Gusto Community Fund was born out of the Covid-19 pandemic when we saw how small community projects were positively impacting our local community. Using this inspiration and given that the Gusto Group is family-owned with core community values, this aligns perfectly with our ethos.
